A lighter lid,
a brighter look

Upper eyelid blepharoplasty removes excess skin and fat that can make your eyelids feel heavy, limit your field of vision, and leave you looking tired even when you’re well rested. It’s a precise outpatient procedure performed by a fellowship trained oculofacial surgeon, typically completed in under an hour and often done with local anesthesia.

What is upper eyelid blepharoplasty?

Upper eyelid blepharoplasty, often called “bleph,” is a procedure that removes excess skin and sometimes a small amount of fat from the upper eyelid. Over time, the skin above your eye loses elasticity. It stretches, droops, and folds over the natural lid crease, creating a hooded, heavy look and often blocking part of your upper field of vision.

The procedure typically takes 45 minutes to an hour for both eyes. Incisions are placed within the natural lid crease, where they heal into barely visible scars. Once the excess skin is removed, the brow feels lighter, your peripheral vision opens up, and makeup applies the way it used to, because there is a defined lid again.
