Jacquelyn F. Laplant, M.D.

Dr. Laplant received her undergraduate degree in Neuroscience from Tulane University, graduating cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, and earned her M.D. from Drexel University College of Medicine, where she was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha. She completed her ophthalmology residency at Tulane University, followed by a fellowship in ocular oncology at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and a fellowship in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery at the Hamilton Eye Institute.

Following her training, she served as Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the Medical College of Wisconsin — caring for patients at Froedtert Hospital, Children’s Wisconsin and the Zablocki VA Medical Center, and serving as team ophthalmologist for the Milwaukee Bucks. She is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and certified by the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Dr. Laplant’s clinical interests include eyelid and orbital surgery, thyroid eye disease, and tumors of the eyelid, orbit and lacrimal system. She treats ptosis and eyelid malposition, tearing and tear duct obstruction, orbital trauma and fractures, and performs eyelid reconstruction following skin cancer removal, as well as functional and cosmetic eyelid surgery.

She has authored more than 25 peer-reviewed articles, book chapters and editorials on orbital and oculoplastic surgery, pediatric orbital tumors and thyroid eye disease, and is a two-time winner of the American Academy of Ophthalmology EyeWiki Residents and Fellows Contest.
